A few followup questions answered
Here is a link to a podcast I recorded with Kavod where we discuss the origin of the new relationship. This is from the ministry YouTube channel:
The episode is also available on podcast platforms iTunes and Spotify
In the wake of the announcement earlier this week, a few questions came in that I had been anticipating and so I wanted to post them here with some answers:
“If the ministry is getting 100% of sales, how are you benefitting?”
It was becoming apparent, after many years of setbacks and mistakes, that the series might never actually be finished. It was the same for any other potential books I wanted to write or movies we wanted to make.
Kavod Ministries coming along and offering to help was the life-giving shot this material needed. I am completely satisfied to offer the books for publication under their banner. I will be able to retain ownership of film and television rights, which will allow me to eventually resolve old issues and obligations that I still have from the early days of this effort. It also ensures that the projects themselves are stewarded effectively by trustworthy men.
“If I make a donation to Kavod Family Ministries, will it go to support your projects directly, or will it be going to other aspects of their ministry?”
Yes, donations made to “Graham Projects” will exclusively go towards that account.
If you follow the donation link on the ministry website (which you can click here to access), you will see where it says “Graham Projects” when you click the Donate button.
Kavod is using all donations made at that link to fund book publishing/distribution/marketing and (Lord-willing!) moviemaking. You will get a donation receipt and you can claim it on your taxes.
We believe having my projects under the stewardship of this ministry is going to open up many opportunities that have been withheld by the Lord for years.
For example, if every person currently on this email roster were to donate $10 per month for a year, it would completely fund all of the Kavod publishing efforts. If everyone donated $50 per month for a year, it would fund a movie adaptation of The Boundary of Blood (my new book). There are many demands on folks in these days, but if you are still looking for tax deductible charitable giving, and you believe in our mission, please consider this avenue.
If “The Chosen” can raise $40 million through charitable donations for its production, we are asking the Lord for a similar blessing. It’s time to bring the Old Testament wars to life for this generation and shock the world.
And, just to be clear, buying the books themselves will also go towards the Graham Projects development as well.
“What will happen with this Substack newsletter?”
This was the question I was most concerned with because, over the years, it has been one thing after another for people trying to figure out how to support what I am doing, or even just follow along. More than a few folks thought I had died.
I feel terrible about it, but the situation kept changing outside of my control.
I made a lot of mistakes with some early programs, but more recently, the Gibborim app and this Substack were truly meant to be the long-term place for me to put out material.
The Lord had other ideas, and now I am publishing books with Kavod. It’s a great fit and I can see where many of the previous roads all led to this moment.
That said, I will continue posting here on Substack because this is where I will do my personal writing and news updates, so you don’t have to do anything at all to keep receiving these emails and getting the latest information.
“When will the complete Lion of War series (finally) release?”
I have until January 1st to complete and polish the final manuscripts for all five books, making them ready to publish.
Kavod does not want to waste any time on getting them out and building an audience, so I believe we will have them available not long after that. Those of you who are members of this newsletter will get the ebooks around that time so you can be early readers, and we will make sure you are the first ones to be notified when I have a new book. We just did this on Tuesday with The Boundary of Blood and War Prayers, where the very first people notified about it were the readers of this newsletter.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Praise and Arrows.
