Praise and Arrows
The re-release (and completion) of the Lion of War series is a testament to the faithfulness of God to see something through, even when we do our best to sabotage the work. I stand in awe of his faithfulness and grace, and the grace of his people.
The new edition of Day of War is available on Amazon at this link, and Covenant of War is not far behind. If you would be willing to leave a 5 star review on that product page, it would mean a lot in our efforts to promote it. (Note: Don’t leave reviews at the original Zondervan edition page; that edition is out of print and it is being sold by second-hand sellers).
Over the years, there were a lot of good people who contributed a lot of hard labor to see this project succeed. Among them were the folks behind the “Praise and Arrows: Music Inspired by the Lion of War Series” music album, which we produced and released back in 2014. It never found the large audience we hoped, but the music has been a blessing. I believe it captured beautifully the intent and message of the series, and stands alone as a means to worship our mighty God through the battle.
This song in particular has spoken to me through very difficult times. I told the songwriters to craft a somber ‘war cry’-style anthem that the scene in Day of War that takes place in Gath when the men encounter the mysterious woman who sings them through the darkness. Kerrie Roberts performed it with fire and beauty.
Praying you all know the covering and presence of our Lord Jesus, the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David.
